A modified lanchester linear process calibrated to historical data

John Richard Scales

Naval Research Logistics (NRL), 1995, vol. 42, issue 3, 491-501

Abstract: A new formulation of Lanchester‐like attrition equations is proposed. This formulation is derived from theoretical attrition occurring at extrema and with reference to historical data. It provides a different view of the attrition process as well as insight into the meaning of the logarithmic law attrition parameter. A method of testing the formulation against more familiar equations is proposed. © 1995 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
