A mathematical model of attrition data

Dean S. Hartley

Naval Research Logistics (NRL), 1995, vol. 42, issue 4, 585-607

Abstract: The Lanchester square and linear laws do not provide good models of combat attrition as evidenced in historical data. A particular homogeneous, mixed, linear‐logarithmic law, however, does provide a good approximation to the historical data. © 1995 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
