Abstract:
Environmental legislation now looms large in the backdrop of corporate strategy. However, there is still little theoretical work on corporate environmentalism. A conceptual model of corporate environmentalism is proposed here, stressing the effect of information on managerial enthusiasm in responding to the green challenge and on the formalization of strategies and structures to reflect that response. Suggestions on operationalization are advanced and research implications discussed.
