Abstract: We propose an iterative model which incorporates much of the physics of avalanche dynamics and logarithmic relaxation in complex systems. In particular it can be used to interpret the long time behavior in sandpile systems, since it reproduces quite well the long time relaxation in sandpiles under vibration.
