Abstract:
Financial assistance to developing countries for their economic and social development has become a significant activity of the international community. It is now well recognized that external financial resources make an important contribution to the economic progress of developing countries. The Asian and Pacific region is particularly in need of development resources. Most of the countries in the region are poor, and their total population accounts for more than one-half that of the developing world.
