Abstract:
The past few decades have witnessed significant progress in the application of fractional calculus to the modeling and control of complex dynamical systems, particularly due to its ability to capture memory and hereditary effects inherent in many natural and engineered processes. This special issue compiles a selection of rigorous studies addressing theoretical advancements, novel modeling frameworks, and control methodologies based on fractional-order derivatives. The contributions span diverse domains, including infectious disease modeling, viscoelastic material behavior, signal analysis, optimization, and chaos suppression. This editorial outlines the thematic focus of the issue, emphasizing key methodological innovations and identifying prospective directions for future research in this expanding interdisciplinary area.
