Abstract:
This paper explores the underlying structure of the intellectual research domains of the Italian community of banking and finance researchers. The goal of this study is to investigate research fronts and prominent topics and identify the links among these themes directly, based on the subject content of 1450 scientific papers published in over 20 years. The study proposes a journal density map that combines the publications of articles from the group of researchers investigated and the impact metric of the journal, which reflects the research quality and research within a specific subject area. In addition, co-authorship analysis was conducted to observe the intensity of scientific interaction within the 22 clusters of authors identified by this study.
