Abstract:
Inter-organisational networks are presented as an adequate response to the dynamic and innovative environment in which organisations are inserted. It is necessary to develop dynamic capabilities to operate in single, double or triple cycle learning networks. However, there is no awareness of how networks can evolve in this fluid and agile environment of contemporary society. The purpose of this paper is to identify the stages of evolution of the Inter-organisational Networks and their constituent elements. Five stages of network evolution were identified: exchange, development, expansion, action and learning. This integrative literature review points out the characteristics of each of these stages, also listing its constituent elements. The Inter-organisational Learning Network is presented as the stage where learning becomes one of the objectives of the network and not just one of its results, which enhances its gains. The document contributes to a reflection on the stages of networks and strategies necessary for its evolution, where the results are more lasting. Acting in networks is necessary and being aware of the actions necessary for this strategy to generate better results contributes to more effective solutions.
