Abstract:
The coadsorption of cyclohexane and oxygen on Ni{111} at 110 K was studied using reflectionadsorption infrared spectroscopy (RAIRS). The effect of postdosed oxygen on the cyclohexane adlayer can be understood in terms of repulsive oxygen-cyclohexane interactions which lead to segregation and compression of the cyclohexane islands.
