Abstract: A clear linear relation between the gas pressure and the diameter of nanophase particles generated from the modified gas-flow/cold-trap method was obtained for several kinds of metallic nanophase particles. This simple relationship was also verified by numerical simulation using a Monte-Carlo method on the diffusion and coagulation of clusters in a free-molecule regime.
