Abstract:
Under certain conditions a close contact between solid polycrystalline materials and the liquid phase leads to liquid grooving — formation of liquid grooves at grain boundaries. The liquid grooves (LG) make up a coupled liquid structure — liquid channel grain boundary structure (LGBS), so-called matrix distributed structure. This paper deals with kinetic data involved in the process of LG and LGBS formation. The novel models of LG and LGBS formation are elaborated.
