Abstract: Conservation laws and the second law of thermodynamics are used to study the dynamics of zero-mass Gibbs interfaces, which can be used to approximate the behavior of the real interfacial region. The work is characterized by the introduction of quantities representing the net action of two bulk phases on the interface and by the use of the second law of thermodynamics to provide the required constitutive equations.
