Abstract:
Recent studies on nuclear dynamics of core-excited and Auger final states are reviewed. Emphasis is given to the nuclear motion of the core-excited states and its influence to the subsequent decay and fragmentation processes. As specific examples we discuss two-dimensional nuclear motion caused by the O1s → 2b2excitation inH2Oand by the C1s → 2πuexcitation inCO2, as well as out-of-plane motion caused by B$1s\to 2a_2^{\prime\prime}$excitation and asymmetric stretching motion caused by the F1sionization inBF3.
