Abstract:
In angle- and spin-resolved photoemission experiments, we have observed that the ferromagnetic order of the Cr(001) surface is strongly influenced by oxygen concentration. Oxygen atoms of a few atomic percent of the total volume have a substantial influence on the ferromagnetic order of the Cr(001) surface.
