Two approximate expressions used to compute the interaction energy between two similar plane parallel double layers are derived by expanding the interaction energy in the power series of$u_0(=\tanh\,\frac{y_0}{4})$at low dimensionless surface potentialy0or the power series of$w_0(=\frac{1-u_0}{1+u_0})$at high dimensionless surface potentialy0, respectively.
