Abstract: In this work, we electrochemically developed a palladium–polypyrrole composite film on a silicon semiconductor support, and then studied its electrocatalytic activity — as an anode — towards the oxidation of glucose in an alkaline medium. The obtained electrode is characterized by various physicochemical techniques such as scanning electron microscopy (SEM), atomic force microscopy (AFM) and X-ray fluorescence (XRF). The results show that the presence of the polymer film on the Si support improves the conductivity of the latter and that the presence of palladium on the polymer film is at the origin of the reactivity of the electrode for glucose oxidation.
