Approximation of a fuzzy number preserving entropy-like nonspecifity

Abstract: The problem of the interval approximation of fuzzy numbers is discussed. A measure of uncertainty, called entropy-like nonspecifity is proposed and interval approximation operator preserving this nonspecifity measure is suggested.
