Abstract:
This research estimates the Total Factor Productivity (TFP) at 2013 in the manufacturing and mining sector. The method applied in this paperis the estimation of a Cobb Douglas production function with Ordinary Least Squares. The sample was taken from the Survey of manufacturing and mining carried out to 1371 firms by the National Institute of Statistics and Census of the year 2013. The theoretical framework developed for the argumentation of this subject is based on theories of economic growth as well as the conceptualization of terms used in the development of the work thatadhere to the need to estimate the TFP. Finally, as a main conclusion, it was obtained thatsmall companies are the most productive and there is no evidence of a relationship between productivity and exports for both manufacturing and mining
