Abstract:
In this research we will analyze the possible factors that may influence the decision of exportingmade by Ecuadorian shrimp companies, using a data panel from 2007-2017. During this period there were many interventions by the government to stimulate this sector and itis reflected in the amountof companies dedicated to this activity, going from 184 companies in 2007 to 839 in2017. Estimates obtained show consistentresults with previous literature regarding the technification of companies, while no significant relationships were found between age, direct foreign investment and the decision to export. In addition, a relationship was found between the export decision and the size of the company measured through the income level.
