Abstract:
This paper analyzes the production of the food and beverages industry in Ecuador by estimating a Cobb-Douglas production function using ordinary least squares (OLS), fixed effects and random effects in order to analyze the elasticity of traditional productive factors, obtaining as a result that the most elastic factor in these subsectors is capital and the least elastic is labor, in addition it is evident that the estimated function presents diminishing returns to scale, thus showing results consistent with the established empirical literature regarding on developing countries.
