Abstract: The international spread of the coronavirus is affecting the global economy as a whole.That said,the current Ecuadorian legislation, due to its archaic nature,will certainly not contribute to ensure the survival of those companies who are facing financial difficulties as a result of this global pandemic.In addition, the liquidation proceedings, in times of COVID-19, require some adjustments to ensure an adequate and unobstructed legal extinction in favor of those companies who do not have another operational alternative.For these reasons, this paper will analyze some corporate and insolvency proposals, suggested to mitigate the economic impact of COVID-19 in Ecuador.
