Innovación y Productividad: Un análisis del comportamiento de las empresas manufactureras ecuatoriana

Abstract: The objective of this study is to analyze the determinants that influence the decision to innovate and the economic performance of Ecuadorian manufacturing firms,using the Crepon, Duguet and Mairesse (1998) model, which contains four sequential equations that relate innovative effortto innovation and innovation to productivity. The results obtained from the model show that firm size, formal protection methods and competitiveness affect the decision to innovate in manufacturing firms.
