Abstract: This paper is a situational analysis of child labour in Pakistan. Child labour is a pervasive phenomenon in many developing countries. It is the symptom of several ailments the economy is suffering from and cannot be eliminated simply by passing legislation. Legislation to ban child labour has to be accompanied with other policies that alleviate poverty and ensure a well functioning safety net.
