Abstract:
Hyacinth bean is one of the most popular vegetables in Bangladesh due to its wider adaptation and acceptability. This study was conducted at the RARS, BARI, Akbarpur, Moulvibazar, Bangladesh during 2020- 2021 for the genetic studies and traits association in hyacinth bean. The analysis of variance revealed that significant differences were found among the genotypes. Based on the mean performance of the genotypes Lp.Akb.001 and Lp.Akb.002 were found as promising for the studied traits. The selection based on no. of green pods per plant, days to 50% flowering, and green pod yield might be efficient since they hold high values of genotypic and phenotypic variance. High heritability combined with high genetic advance was observed for the weight of green pod per plant, no. of green pod per plant, and green pod yield. Green pod yield showed significant positive correlation with weight of green pod per plant at genotypic and phenotypic levels.
