Abstract: To investigate the impact of weed management and crop establishment technique on the growth performance of transplant aman rice, an experiment was performed at the Agronomy Field Laboratory, Bangladesh Agricultural University, Mymensingh, from July to November 2022. The experiment consisted of two factors; Factor A: Methods of crop establishment viz. Puddle and unpuddle transplanting; Factor B: Seven weed management practices such as no weeding, two hand weeding at 15 and 35 DAT, application of pre-emergence herbicide Commit (Pretilachlor), application of early post-emergence herbicide Paddy plus (Acetachlor + Bensulfuron methyl), application of pre-emergence herbicide Commit followed by early post-emergence herbicide Paddy plus, application of pre-emergence herbicide Commit followed by one hand weeding at 35 DAT and application of early post-emergence herbicide Paddy plus followed by one hand weeding 35 DAT. With three replications, the experiment was designed as a split plot with crop establishment techniques assigned to the main plots and weed management techniques in the sub-plots. The experimental field was infested by fourteen weed species, representing six families. There were five grass species, four wide leaf species, and five sedge species among the weeds. From the results, it is found that almost all the parameters on growth were significantly influenced by crop establishment methods.
