Energy Economics (3rd Edition)

Edited by Yiming Wei () and Hua Liao

in CEEP-BIT Books from Center for Energy and Environmental Policy Research (CEEP), Beijing Institute of Technology

Abstract: Taking energy economic management issues as the main thread, this textbook integrates the study of energy management and relevant climate policies into the economic research framework, and systematically introduces core issues including energy demand and supply, energy efficiency, energy market, energy price, energy trade and finance, energy market risk, energy investment and financing, energy performance contracting, energy security, strategic energy reserve, energy poverty, health effects of energy, energy and climate change, and energy technology policy options. Built on the two previously published textbooks Energy Economics and Advanced Energy Economics, this new textbook is compiled through updating, supplementing, correcting and re-integrating, with a reasonable chapter layout and a sound knowledge system. While emphasizing fundamentality and systematicness, the book focuses on grasping the development trend of modern energy economic management issues, incorporates the latest developments and research achievements, and attaches importance to explaining profound theories in simple terms and integrating with China's practice, making it better meet the current talent training requirements of economics and management disciplines in institutions of higher learning, especially the training needs for high-level research-oriented talents in the fields of energy economic management and related climate engineering management. This textbook can serve not only as a graduate textbook for majors in energy economic management and related climate engineering management, but also as a training material or self-study reference for teachers and students in colleges and universities, scientific researchers, enterprise managers and civil servants in government departments.
