Project Management: Taking Energy Projects as Examples

Edited by Baojun Tang

in CEEP-BIT Books from Center for Energy and Environmental Policy Research (CEEP), Beijing Institute of Technology

Abstract: This book aims to systematically elaborate the modern project management knowledge system tailored for the energy sector and sequentially introduces the core contents of project management discipline, including project organizational structure and team management, integration management, scope management, schedule management, cost management, quality management, communication management, risk management, procurement management, stakeholder management and project closure management. Notably, each chapter of the book organically integrates theoretical knowledge with its practical application in energy project management cases. In terms of the theoretical framework, the book is compiled in accordance with A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide) (Sixth Edition), and particularly supplements the content on stakeholder management that has not received sufficient emphasis in previous textbooks. From the perspective of practical application, the book presents an abundant collection of energy project management cases. Illustrating how these real-world cases are implemented across all stages of project management facilitates an in-depth understanding of the value and applicable methodologies of each project management phase.
