Abstract:
On the basis of the Federal Constitutional Court ruling on the sports betting market from the 28th of March 2006 this report describes four scenarios, which outline how the sports betting market could develop up to the year 2010 considering different regulatory frameworks. In the main focus are the market players Oddset, offshore online betting provider, domestic betting agents and horse-racing bookmakers. The scenarios are the basis for an input-output analysis, which is used to determine the value added, employment and government revenue effects that are associated with the activities of the sports betting industry.
