Abstract:
Nanomaterials have revolutionized the field of drug discovery and delivery by enabling targeted, efficient, and controlled release of therapeutics. This review explores the role of nanotechnology in drug development, with a focus on nanocarriers such as liposomes, dendrimers, polymeric nanoparticles, and inorganic nanomaterials. Key advantages include improved bioavailability, reduced side effects, and enhanced therapeutic efficacy. Several case studies highlight the success of nanomaterials in treating diseases like cancer, neurodegenerative disorders, and infectious diseases. The literature survey examines recent advancements and challenges in the clinical translation of nanomedicines. While nanotechnology offers immense potential in pharmaceutical sciences, concerns related to toxicity, scalability, and regulatory approval must be addressed for widespread adoption. This review underscores the need for interdisciplinary research to further harness the benefits of nanotechnology in medicine.
