Abstract: The Overview of Public Management in Latin America and the Caribbean systematizes the main advances and challenges of public management in the region. This edition presents a comprehensive perspective on public sector innovation as a driver of State transformation, aimed at strengthening institutional capacities so that public administrations become more efficient, open, resilient and people‑centred. To this end, it presents insights and new approaches to public management, strategic orientations and experiences from countries of the region, and is aimed at public authorities, technical teams, academia and social actors committed to institutional improvement. Public sector innovation goes beyond the modernization of procedures; it involves strengthening collective capacities to envision and build a more inclusive, sustainable and democratic future. The document highlights that, despite existing tensions and constraints, the crises currently affecting the region are a historic opportunity to consolidate State capacities for adaptation, anticipation and collaboration. Within this framework, public ethics and a people‑centred approach constitute core elements for any transformative process. The Overview is intended as a guide for purposeful, collaborative and sustainable public innovation that contributes to social well‑being and to the advancement of the 2030 Agenda.
