Edited by Rita McWilliams Tullberg
in Books from Edward Elgar Publishing
Abstract:
Alfred Marshall’s influence on the direction taken by theoretical economics in England as well as the professionalisation of the subject cannot be overstated. For better or worse, his influence over the teaching of undergraduate economics still remains strong. Important aspects of the Marshallian heritage are covered in this volume which celebrates the centenary of the publication of Alfred Marshall’s Principles of Economics in 1890. It includes a re-examination of the Principles their historical impact and current relevance, some methodological aspects of Marshall’s work, Marshall’s contribution to economic policy and Marshall, the man.
