Integrating sustainability into entrepreneurship programs
Tonia Warnecke ()
Chapter 11 in From Microfinance To Middle Class?, 2025, pp 174-186 from Edward Elgar Publishing
Abstract:
This chapter examines five different channels for expanding the content or focus of female entrepreneurship programs to include environmental impact: financial incentives, agricultural extension services, eco-enterprise training, integrated social enterprise operations, and youth education and collaboration. Examples from China and India illustrate each approach, showcasing outreach opportunities for marginalized women and those operating in the informal sector of the economy.
