Abstract: This chapter provides a general introduction and reasoning for the purpose of writing this book. In addition to the driving premise of the book, the chapter presents a brief overview of the major literatures covered, the primary research questions asked, the methodologies used, and an introduction to the key stakeholders interviewed – namely, firms, trade regulators, and immigration attorneys involved in cross-border labor movements across the Canada–US border.
