Chapter 9 in Evolutionary Spatial Economics, 2020, pp 128-194 from Edward Elgar Publishing
Abstract:
Economic and geographical space may be classified in several ways. The spatial units considered in this chapter are clusters, cities and regions, even though these units do not have a coherent internal structure themselves. Origins, underlying forces, structure, evolution, possible future actions and policy in those spatial units are presented with the support of numerous examples.
