Contemporary issues in Takaful implementation

.

Chapter 7 in Encyclopedia of Islamic Insurance, Takaful and Retakaful, 2019, pp 286-314 from Edward Elgar Publishing

Abstract: Here we examine the role of compliance and supervision, as well as the roles of research and innovation in the Takaful industry. Communication and training are important since it is essential to create a concerted brand image to promote and popularize the principles of mutuality, transparency and cooperation, in order to enhance the attractiveness of the global community. In terms of governance, Takaful institutions must capitalize on the experience developed by the conventional insurance sector by ensuring that they do not violate any Shari’ah compliance rules. Corporate governance rules and regulations should be examined in the Takaful industry. Finally, we examine marketing as an important tool for businesses aiming to be competitive and profitable. Finally, some accounting issues are examined.
