Abstract: The function of international courts and tribunals is antagonistic to war. International justice must be fair, uphold vigorously the principle of equality between states and cast out any notion of absolutism. The convincing power of the rulings rendered by the ICJ depends heavily on examining meticulously all legitimate expectations and concerns put before it. The ICJ provides full-effective guidance on litigants, in order to both accommodate their needs and preserve the proper administration of justice and world peace and security. The bench tries its utmost to close all gaps, especially during the phase of oral proceedings. Eliminating any kind of obstacle strengthens the institution at its substance (for example, it continued to perform its functions despite the 2020 pandemic). The ICJ remains a strict gatekeeper, with the bond of trust between itself and the states being preserved throughout proceedings.
