EIA teaching principles: skills

.

Chapter 6 in Teaching Environmental Impact Assessment, 2021, pp 65-75 from Edward Elgar Publishing

Abstract: Nine essential skills that students would ideally develop as they progress through an EIA curriculum are defined and presented. The principles pertain to systems thinking, critical thinking, applying judgement, written communication, oral communication, team work, project management, research, and job-readiness. The relative importance of the skills principles for university teaching and professional training derived from a survey of EIA teachers is presented.
