Abstract: The best-selling Canadian humorist Stephen Leacock (1869–1944) was also a professor of economics and political science, trained by Thorstein Veblen. Leacock’s social criticism, read throughout English-speaking countries, was expressed both as satire and through serious reflections, most notably in The Unsolved Riddle of Social Justice (1920).
