A new conceptual framework for the definition and measurement of creativity
.
Chapter 4 in Cultural Heritage, Creativity and Economic Development, 2019, pp 68-89 from Edward Elgar Publishing
Abstract:
This chapter aims at developing an innovative conceptual and operational framework for the definition and measurement of creativity. Creativity is considered as a multidimensional factor and three different ways in which it can be expressed are identified: artistic creativity, scientific creativity and economic creativity. The role of synergy between different creative talents is also taken into account, leading to a definition of creativity as ideation based on different talents, that is, stemming from different domains. The importance of the territorial approach is stressed and an application to Italian provinces (NUTS3) is presented.
