Abstract:
This chapter provides an introduction and overview of the book. In particular, it introduces issues such as links between macroeconomic stability and economic growth, institutions for macroeconomic policy formulation, fiscal policy, particularly fiscal flexibility and redistribution, monetary policy and exchange rate regimes, scope for macroeconomic reforms, complementarities among pro-growth policies and macroeconomic impacts of the pandemic.
