Abstract: Community partnerships are important because, as the pandemic tragically exhibited, the great obstacles that society must overcome are experienced by people in their localities. This chapter introduces the importance of community partnerships particularly in the current context of the pandemic, the research methods used in this book, the dynamics of community partnerships and the strategic choices that need to be made in every stage of community partnerships.
