.
Chapter 3 in Strategic Community Partnerships, Philanthropy, and Nongovernmental Organization, 2021, pp 20-26 from Edward Elgar Publishing
Abstract:
The Newark Anchor Collaborative (NAC) represents a community partnership that is significantly cross sector, representing multiple fields. It not only includes numerous institutional members - more than a typical partnership of this sort, it is a unique blend of nonprofit organizations alongside private corporations that intend to remain in Newark for the long run. This chapter introduces NAC's background, geographical, historical and cultural context, its key strategies such as HireBuyLive Local, and its responses to the COVID-19 pandemic.
