Chapter 8 in The Globalization of Russian Gas, 2019, pp 150-159 from Edward Elgar Publishing
Abstract:
Chapter 8 brings together the main insights from the preceding chapters and discusses the outlook for Russian gas in the global markets. If Russia is to develop its role as a global gas player and to respond to the challenges of an increasingly competitive and volatile gas market, in the context of a general trend towards decarbonization, then it is possible that the state-owned monopolistic model could become a limiting factor and a more diversified approach to the country’s export strategy may become a necessary condition for success.
