Abstract: The chapter at first touches on three basic questions viz., is it meaningful to talk of justice at the global level? Should the goal of international law be to establish global order or to realize global justice? What are the meaning and principles of global justice? It thereafter explores the idea of global economic justice by responding to questions posed by sceptics, including whether international lawyers can play a meaningful role in facilitating its realization. The chapter contends that the destiny of different nations has come to be linked in ways that the pursuit of global justice is necessary to effectively address the multiple interlocking crises that the international community encounters. The international lawyer has a crucial role to play in this regard, necessitating the rethinking of the mainstream positivist method which prevents adequate engagement with distributive outcomes.
