Abstract:
This chapter presents an overview of the development of science policy to explore the efforts to encourage the use of university knowledge in the UK over time. It reviews the key funding schemes available to innovative firms in the UK. Finally, it examines recent data from the Community Innovation Survey and Longitudinal Small Business Survey to explore current trends in university engagement within the UK.
