Case study: reflexive practice in collaborative research

.

Chapter 6 in How to be a Reflexive Researcher, 2021, pp 113-135 from Edward Elgar Publishing

Abstract: Chapter 6 presents a collaborative research project focussed on the role of negative emotional experiences in reflexive learning, in which the intention was to maximise the authenticity and relevance of the research account (with generalisability approached more tentatively through theorisation). The study used a specific, relationally reflexive approach that allowed a collaborative research group to use our own experiences as the basis of research, and to be able to account for those experiences intimately on all reflexive levels - embodied, emotional, rational and relational - and so to be fully present in the study with significant control over our authentic voices.
