Chapter 5 in Plato's Economics, 2021, pp 67-87 from Edward Elgar Publishing

Abstract: While the common people had only a limited need for skills and philosophy, the ruling elite required formal lessons in exercise, music, mathematics and the dialectic to equip them for power. Censorship should also be practised to filter out misinformation that would weaken the state.
