Getting QCA right: a small-N example

.

Chapter 12 in Qualitative Comparative Analysis, 2024, pp 195-204 from Edward Elgar Publishing

Abstract: This chapter presents a small-N example with more intimate case knowledge. Using the fsQCA software, the chapter investigates knowledge creation in inter-firm project teams. All steps of the study, from casing and calibration to truth table analysis, are intentionally discussed only briefly. If readers can follow the steps without have to return to the book for clarification, they will have learnt how to do QCA. Only dialoguing knowledge of cases, context and concepts is discussed more in more detail to demonstrate how to substantively interpret the solution into a plausible causal explanation.
