Chapter 5 in How Do I Develop an Agent-Based Model?, 2022, pp 111-123 from Edward Elgar Publishing
Abstract:
This chapter presents two agent-based computational simulation models with the intention of describing how theory could be tested and developed. The two models are the modern ABM version of the Garbage Can Model, by Fioretti and Lomi (2010), labeled GCM10, and the inquisitiveness model INQ1.0.1 that appeared in Bardone and Secchi (2017). Both models offer interesting insights on bounded rationality, the first implicitly while the second more explicitly so. After an overview of each model's assumptions, a selection of results is discussed.
