Chapter 36 in Elgar Encyclopedia on the Economics of Knowledge and Innovation, 2022, pp 291-301 from Edward Elgar Publishing
Abstract:
This entry summarizes the large literature that has explored the determinants, implications and effects of two properties of knowledge that are considered to be very general and applicable to any type of knowledge, from scientific to more empirical and craft based. The two properties are: i) Knowledge as a co-relational structure, ii) Knowledge as a retrieval or interpretative structure. The lemma elaborates the implications for policy and strategy.
